Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Mixing spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)
  • Wine glasses or tumblers

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine Spanish or fruity red
  • 0.25 cup brandy
  • 0.25 cup orange liqueur such as triple sec
  • 0.5 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 cup simple syrup or honey to taste
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce or to taste
  • 1 orange sliced into rounds
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1 apple cored and chopped
  • fresh berries optional, for garnish
  • 1 cup club soda to top, optional

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher, combine wine, brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, and simple syrup or honey.
  • Add sliced orange, lemon, and apple. Stir gently to combine.
  • Add sriracha and mix well. Taste and add more for extra spice, or more syrup for sweetness.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best flavor).
  • To serve, pour into glasses with fruit. Top with club soda for fizz, and garnish with berries if you like.

Notes

Adjust the sriracha to suit your spice level. For a lighter sangria, use more club soda. Use whatever fruit is in season for the prettiest presentation. Best served chilled.
