Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Measuring jigger
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Small plate for Tajín or salt
  • Short glass or margarita glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco or reposado
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz guava puree or guava juice
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup or simple syrup
  • 2-3 slices fresh jalapeño adjust for spice
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • Tajín or salt for rimming glass
  • lime wedge for garnish
  • guava slice optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Rim the glass with a lime wedge, then dip in Tajín or salt. Fill the glass with fresh ice.
  • Add jalapeño slices to a shaker and lightly muddle to release heat.
  • Add tequila, triple sec, guava puree, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Add ice to the shaker.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds until well chilled and combined.
  • Fine‑strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge or guava slice.

Notes

Taste before straining—add more agave for sweetness or a splash more lime for brightness. Remove jalapeño seeds for less heat. If using guava juice instead of puree, reduce agave to keep balance.
