Instructions
Pour milk into a saucepan and warm over medium heat (do not boil).
Add chopped chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, and chocolate syrup. Whisk until melted and smooth.
Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne or chili, and optional ginger or cardamom. Keep whisking until blended and hot.
Remove from heat, add vanilla extract, and adjust sweetness or spice as desired.

Notes
