Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Coupe glass or chilled stemmed glass
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small bowl
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur or any elderflower liqueur
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup or elderflower syrup/cordial for extra floral flavor
  • 1 egg white or 2 tbsp aquafaba for vegan-friendly option
  • 2-3 dashes aromatic bitters such as Angostura or any spiced bitters
  • edible flowers or fresh rose petals for garnish
  • lemon zest or twist for garnish
  • ice for shaking

Instructions

  • Pour the vodka, St-Germain, lemon juice, simple syrup (or elderflower syrup/cordial), and egg white (or aquafaba) into your cocktail shaker.
  • Give it a dry shake (no ice) for about 15 seconds to build foam.
  • Add ice and shake again until the shaker feels cold, about 20 seconds.
  • Double strain into a chilled coupe glass using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Add 2-3 dashes of aromatic bitters on top of the foam.
  • Garnish with edible flowers or rose petals and a strip of lemon zest.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor. St-Germain or a high-quality elderflower liqueur enhances the floral notes. Swap egg white for aquafaba for a vegan version. Add an extra dash of bitters for more spice. Coupe glass presentation elevates the look and feel of the cocktail.
