Ingredients

  • 4 cups cranberry juice 100% juice, not cocktail
  • 1 cup orange juice fresh-squeezed preferred
  • 2 to 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise optional, for extra spice
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 large orange sliced into rounds
  • 2 cups club soda or soda water chilled
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
  • Heat over low heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain out the spices using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Transfer the spiced juice mixture into a large pitcher or punch bowl. Add ice cubes.
  • Stir in the cranberries and orange slices.
  • Slowly pour in the chilled club soda or soda water and stir gently.
  • Serve into glasses using a ladle, making sure to include fruit in each glass.
