  • Long wooden spoon

  • Wine glasses

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles dry red wine 750ml each
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 3 honey crisp apples cored and sliced
  • 2 oranges sliced
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole star anise
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups club soda

Instructions

  • Add wine, apple cider, and brandy to a large pitcher.
  • Stir in honey until it dissolves completely.
  • Add sliced apples, oranges, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves to the pitcher.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours to let flavors blend.
  • Just before serving, add club soda and stir gently.
  • Pour through a strainer into wine glasses filled with ice.
  • Garnish each glass with fresh apple slices and cinnamon sticks.

Notes

Store leftover sangria without club soda for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
Use sweet red wines like Rioja or Merlot for best results.
Replace honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
For a stronger drink, add an extra 1/4 cup of brandy.
Keep fruits submerged in the liquid to prevent browning.
