Equipment

  • Champagne flutes
  • Measuring jigger or shot glass
  • Small citrus juicer
  • Bar spoon
  • Pitcher
  • Serving tray

Ingredients

  • 2 oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur or similar elderflower liqueur
  • 2 oz blood orange juice or fresh grapefruit juice orange juice also works
  • 0.5 oz elderflower syrup optional, for extra floral sweetness
  • 4 oz chilled sparkling wine, prosecco, cava, or dry champagne
  • lemon wedge or blood orange slice for garnish
  • fresh mint sprig optional garnish
  • ice optional, to chill ingredients before pouring

Instructions

  • Chill champagne flutes in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before serving.
  • Pour elderflower liqueur into each flute.
  • Add blood orange juice, grapefruit juice, or orange juice.
  • If desired, add a splash of elderflower syrup.
  • Top off slowly with sparkling wine, prosecco, cava, or champagne—pour at a tilt to preserve bubbles.
  • Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with lemon wedge, blood orange slice, or mint sprig.
  • Serve immediately while bubbly.

Notes

Best with dry sparkling wine or prosecco to balance sweetness. Fresh grapefruit juice adds tang, while blood orange juice adds vibrant color. For larger batches, mix all but sparkling wine in a pitcher and top glasses individually. Non-alcoholic version: use sparkling water and elderflower syrup instead of wine and liqueur.
