Sgroppino is a light Italian drink that blends lemon sorbet, vodka, and Prosecco. I make it with just a few tools, simple ingredients, and a couple of easy steps for a refreshing treat.
Large mixing bowl: I use this to combine the ingredients.
Whisk or hand blender: This helps me blend the sorbet until it’s smooth.
Measuring jigger or small cup: I measure the vodka and Prosecco for accuracy.
Ice cream scoop: I use this to portion the lemon sorbet easily.
Chilled serving glasses (flutes or coupes): These keep the cocktail cold when serving.
Spoon or spatula: It helps me mix and scrape the sorbet if needed.
Ingredients
2cupslemon sorbetstore-bought or homemade
1/2cupchilled Prosecco
1ozvodka
Lemon zestfor garnish
Fresh mint leavesoptional
Extra lemon slicesoptional, for garnish
Instructions
Place the lemon sorbet in the mixing bowl.
Gently whisk or blend the sorbet until it’s smooth and creamy.
Add vodka and mix until fully blended.
Slowly pour in chilled Prosecco while stirring, making sure not to lose the bubbles.
Pour the mixture into chilled glasses.
Garnish with lemon zest, mint leaves, or a lemon slice as you like.
Serve immediately while cold and frothy.
Notes
I always serve Sgroppino fresh, since the mix can separate if it sits too long.If I want a less strong drink, I’ll add more Prosecco or sorbet and use a little less vodka. Sometimes I swap in lime or orange sorbet for a twist.Keeping the glasses chilled before serving helps the drink stay cool longer. I usually go for the best quality sorbet I can find—it really makes the biggest difference in flavor.
