  • Sharp knife

  • Long-handled spoon
  • Wine glasses
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Fine-mesh strainer

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles Spanish red wine 750ml each
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 2 oranges sliced
  • 2 lemons sliced
  • 2 limes sliced
  • 2 apples cored and chopped
  • 2 cups club soda
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  • Slice all fruits thinly and place them in the pitcher.
  • Pour the wine, brandy, and triple sec over the fruit.
  • Add the simple syrup and stir gently with a long-handled spoon.
  • Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to let the flavors blend.
  • Just before serving, add the club soda and stir once.
  • Fill wine glasses with ice and pour the sangria through a strainer.
  • Add a few pieces of the soaked fruit to each glass.

Notes

The sangria stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
Red wine options include Spanish Rioja, Tempranillo, or Garnacha.
Make simple syrup by heating equal parts water and sugar until dissolved.
Double or triple the recipe for large gatherings by maintaining the same ratios.
Keep the fruit pieces large enough to strain easily when serving.
