Rumchata Maple Bourbon Fizz Cocktail Recipe

Rumchata Maple Bourbon Fizz Cocktail Recipe
This cocktail mixes RumChata, maple syrup, bourbon, and club soda for a creamy, sweet drink with a hint of fizz. I use a few basic tools and common ingredients to make it at home.

Equipment

  • To make this drink, The shaker is important because it helps blend the maple syrup and liquors together.
  • I also need a glass, usually a rocks glass or an old-fashioned glass.
  • A long spoon helps stir if I want less foam.
  • I sometimes use a fine mesh strainer to catch ice chips.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients I use to make one serving:

  • RumChata 2 ounces
  • Bourbon 1.5 ounces
  • Pure Maple Syrup 0.5 ounce
  • Fresh Lemon Juice 0.5 ounce
  • Club Soda 2 ounces
  • Ice As needed

Optional: Cinnamon stick or grated nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  • First, I fill a shaker with fresh ice. I pour in the RumChata, bourbon, maple syrup, and lemon juice.
  • I shake them for about fifteen seconds until the mix feels cold.
  • Next, I strain the drink into a glass filled halfway with fresh ice.
  • I pour the club soda gently on top and stir once or twice, so I don’t lose the fizz.
  • I add a cinnamon stick, a dusting of nutmeg, or even a thin lemon wheel to finish.
  • Sometimes, I chill the glass in advance with ice water to keep the drink colder for longer.
  • If I don't want it on the rocks, I strain it into a chilled glass with no ice.

Notes

This cocktail tastes sweet and creamy with a touch of spice from the bourbon and garnish. I adjust maple syrup or lemon juice if I want it sweeter or more tart.
Real maple syrup blends better than pancake syrup and gives a richer flavor. For a lighter version, I sometimes add more club soda or use less bourbon.
I find it tastes best fresh, as the fizz fades after a while. If serving to a group, I double the recipe and shake in batches so each drink stays cold and fresh.
