Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Bar spoon
  • Measuring jigger
  • Fine strainer
  • Small plate (for sugared rim)
  • Chilled wine glass or stemless flute
  • Small bowl for garnishes
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz orange vodka
  • 2 oz cranberry juice or cranberry cocktail
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 0.5 oz maraschino cherry juice or grenadine
  • 3 oz Prosecco or sparkling wine
  • ginger ale splash
  • fresh cranberries for garnish
  • rosemary for garnish
  • sugar for rim
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving

Instructions

  • Chill your glass and coat the rim with sugar.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add orange vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice, and maraschino cherry juice (or grenadine).
  • Shake gently for about 10 seconds, then strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with Prosecco and a splash of ginger ale. Stir once, gently, to keep the bubbles lively.
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries and a sprig of rosemary. Serve immediately.

Notes

Swap Prosecco for any dry sparkling wine. For a lighter sip, add more ginger ale and skip the vodka. Freeze cranberries to use as ‘ice’ without dilution. For the sugared rim, dip the glass in orange juice first, then sugar.
