Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Collins glass
  • Measuring jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Plate or shallow dish
  • Ice cubes
  • Small knife

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 3 oz ruby red grapefruit juice fresh or bottled
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz club soda or sparkling water
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup to taste
  • sea salt for rim
  • grapefruit wedge or wheel for garnish
  • lime wedge for garnish and rimming
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Rub the rim of a Collins glass with a lime wedge and dip in sea salt to coat. Fill glass with ice.
  • Add tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave syrup to a shaker with ice. Shake until cold.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Top with club soda and stir gently. Garnish with grapefruit and lime.

Notes

Fresh juice is best. Adjust agave for sweetness. Grapefruit soda can replace club soda for a sweeter, bubblier drink. Blanco tequila keeps the flavor bright and fresh.
