Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Muddler
  • Strainer
  • Collins glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice

Ingredients

For one cocktail, gather these items:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Club soda
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • Ice cubes
  • Grapefruit wedge for garnish

Use high-quality vodka for the best flavor. Fresh citrus juices make a big difference in taste compared to bottled versions.

Instructions

  • Put the rosemary sprig in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  • Add 2-3 ice cubes and muddle gently to release the oils.
  • Pour in vodka, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, and lemon juice.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and grapefruit wedge.

Serve right away while the drink is cold and bubbly.

    Notes

This recipe can be easily adjusted to suit different tastes. For a stronger rosemary flavor, let the sprig sit in the vodka for a few hours before making the cocktail.
To make it less sweet, cut back on the simple syrup. For a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka with extra club soda or grapefruit juice.
Always drink responsibly and never serve alcohol to minors.
