Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Muddler
  • Strainer
  • Cocktail glass
  • Ice

Ingredients

For one serving:

  • 2 oz vodka or gin
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • Club soda
  • Ice
  • Lemon or grapefruit slice for garnish

Fresh citrus juices are key for the best taste. You can adjust the amount of simple syrup to your liking.

Instructions

  • Add 2 rosemary sprigs and citrus juices to the shaker. Muddle gently to release the rosemary oils.
  • Add vodka or gin, simple syrup, and ice to the shaker. Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a lemon or grapefruit slice and the remaining rosemary sprig.

Serve right away while the drink is cold and bubbly.

    Notes

This recipe is easy to scale up for larger groups. Make a big batch by multiplying the ingredients, but shake each serving individually for the best results.
You can swap the vodka or gin for white rum or tequila for a different twist. For a non-alcoholic version, replace the spirits with extra club soda or sparkling water.
Try adding a dash of bitters or a splash of elderflower liqueur for extra flavor.
