Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Heat-safe mugs or glasses
  • Spoon: For stirring.
  • Handheld milk frother
  • Small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin purée
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • pinch of salt
  • whipped cream for topping
  • extra cinnamon or pumpkin spice for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional, for extra sweetness

Instructions

  • Add milk, pumpkin purée, and maple syrup to a small saucepan.
  • Whisk in vanilla extract, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and honey (if using).
  • Warm the mixture over medium heat, stirring until hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from heat and froth with milk frother if desired.
  • Pour evenly into mugs. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin spice. Serve warm.

Notes

Use real pumpkin purée for best texture. Any milk works, but oat or whole milk is extra creamy. Adjust sweetness to taste. Plant-based whipped cream makes it fully dairy-free. For a thinner drink, add more milk. Easily double for a crowd.
