Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glass
  • Spoon or straw

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree canned or homemade
  • 1/2 cup milk or non-dairy milk almond, oat, etc.
  • 1/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon and nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes for thickness
  • whipped cream optional, for topping
  • extra cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  • Add banana, pumpkin, milk, yogurt, maple syrup, pumpkin spice, vanilla, and ice to a blender.
  • Blend until very smooth and creamy. Taste and add more maple syrup if needed.
  • Pour into a glass. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Frozen banana makes it thickest and creamiest. Use dairy-free milk and yogurt for a vegan smoothie. Try topping with granola for a breakfast treat.
