Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Citrus juicer
  • Strainer
  • Mixing spoon
  • Champagne flute or margarita glass
  • Small plate or shallow bowl
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz Cointreau or triple sec
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or agave syrup; to taste
  • 3 oz Prosecco well-chilled
  • coarse salt for rim
  • lime wedge for garnish
  • ice for shaking and serving

Instructions

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip the rim in coarse salt.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add tequila, Cointreau (or triple sec), fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until well-chilled, then strain into the prepared glass, leaving room at the top.
  • Gently top with chilled Prosecco and give a soft stir to combine without losing the bubbles. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes

Use blanco tequila for a bright profile. Chill the Prosecco well and add it last to preserve effervescence. Adjust sweetness by varying the simple syrup. For parties, batch the base (tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, syrup) in advance and add Prosecco just before serving.
