Ingredients

  • 1 bottle non-alcoholic red wine
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 0.5 cup cranberry juice
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4-5 whole cloves
  • 1-2 star anise
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger sliced
  • 2-3 slices fresh orange
  • 0.25 cup honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar optional
  • handful fresh cranberries
  • a few blackberries
  • pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

  • Pour non-alcoholic red wine into a saucepan.
  • Add pomegranate, cranberry, and orange juices.
  • Drop in cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, ginger, and orange slices.
  • Stir in honey, maple syrup, and brown sugar until dissolved.
  • Heat on low for about 20 minutes (do not boil).
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if needed.
  • Strain out spices and fruit pieces.
  • Pour into a heatproof pitcher or mugs.
  • Garnish each glass with fresh cranberries, blackberries, or orange slice.

Notes

Fresh fruit makes a difference—use sliced orange, cranberries, and blackberries for best color and taste.
For classic mulled wine flavor, use brown sugar and extra spices.
Serve warm or chilled. Chill for a refreshing, crisp taste, or keep it cozy and warm in winter.
If you want a lighter drink, increase orange juice and decrease wine.
