Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Strainer
  • Cocktail glasses (martini or coupe glasses work well)
  • Bar spoon
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Citrus juicer

Ingredients

  • 2 oz 60ml pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz 30ml vodka
  • ½ oz 15ml fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz 15ml simple syrup
  • 2 oz 60ml sparkling water or champagne
  • Ice cubes

Garnish: pomegranate seeds and lime wheel

Instructions

  • Prepare the glass - Chill your cocktail glass with ice or pop it in the freezer for about five minutes.
  • Mix the base - Pour pomegranate juice, vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup into your shaker.
  • Shake well - Toss in some ice and shake it up hard for 15-20 seconds, until the shaker gets frosty.
  • Strain and finish - Ditch the ice from your glass, if you used it, and strain the cocktail in.
  • Add sparkle - Top it off with sparkling water or champagne. Give it a gentle stir.
  • Garnish - Drop a few pomegranate seeds on top and hook a lime wheel on the rim.

Notes

Making drinks for a crowd? Mix everything except the sparkling stuff ahead of time and keep it cold, then add the bubbles right before serving.
The kind of pomegranate juice you use changes the whole vibe—100% juice gives a deeper red and a punchier flavor, while blends are milder.
If you like it sweeter, bump up the simple syrup to ¾ oz (22ml). For more tartness, cut it back to ¼ oz (7ml).
This recipe’s for one, but you can scale it up—just shake each one on its own for the best texture and chill.
