Equipment

  • 1 Large pitcher
  • Small saucepan
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Citrus juicer or fork
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Stirring spoon
  • Glasses for serving
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • Extra peach slices for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves optional, for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Boil 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Add sliced peaches and honey (or sugar).
  • Simmer for 5 minutes, then mash the peaches gently with a spoon.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  • Pour peach mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing to get all the juice.
  • In a separate pot, boil 3 cups water. Add tea bags and steep 4 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags and allow tea to cool slightly.
  • Add tea and lemon juice to the pitcher with peach syrup. Stir to combine.
  • Fill glasses with ice. Pour mocktail over ice and garnish with peach slices and mint.

Notes

Fresh, ripe peaches are my favorite, but canned or frozen work in a pinch. If I go with canned, I look for ones in juice (not syrup) and adjust the sweetener a bit.
For a stronger peach vibe, I’ll splash in a bit of peach nectar. This drink’s best super cold, so I chill the tea and syrup before mixing them together.
If I’m craving bubbles, I top each glass with a splash of sparkling water. Decaf tea keeps it caffeine-free. Fun ice cubes or colorful straws just make it more playful.
