Measuring cups and spoons: For getting the liquids and syrups right.
Tall glass (12–16 oz): I like using a clear glass so you can see that bright color.
Spoon or cocktail stirrer: You’ve got to mix it up to blend the flavors.
Ice cube tray: Because cold drinks are just better.
Jigger (optional): If you want to be exact with your pours.
Straw (optional): Makes it more fun to sip, honestly.
Muddler (optional): Sometimes I like to muddle cherries at the bottom for an extra cherry kick.
Ingredients
1/2cupcherry juiceunsweetened or sweetened, up to you
1cupcolaregular or diet, whatever you have on hand
2–3 tablespoons grenadine syrup
1/2limejuiced, for a little tartness
Ice cubes
Maraschino cherries2–3, for garnish
Lime wheel or wedgegarnish, totally optional
Fresh mint leavesoptional, for garnish and a bit of aroma
Instructions
Fill your glass about halfway with ice cubes.
Pour in the cherry juice first, then add the grenadine syrup over the ice.
Squeeze in the lime juice.
Slowly pour the cola into the glass (helps keep those bubbles alive).
Grab a spoon or cocktail stirrer and gently mix it up.
Top with maraschino cherries, a lime wedge, and a little fresh mint if you’ve got some handy.
Stick a straw in there and serve right away—best to catch it while it’s fizzy.
Notes
If you want it less sweet, swap in diet cola or just use a bit less grenadine. For a super cold drink that doesn’t get watered down, freeze cherry juice in your ice cube tray instead of water.Want a stronger cherry vibe? Muddle a few cherries at the bottom before you add the liquids. This mocktail’s totally non-alcoholic. For a crowd, just multiply the ingredients and mix in a pitcher. Pour the cola in last so it stays fizzy. Leftover ingredients? Pop them in the fridge and they’ll keep fine.
