Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons: I use these to get the right amounts for each ingredient.
  • Cocktail shaker or large jar with a lid: This is important for mixing and chilling the mocktail.
  • Fine mesh strainer: I strain the berries to remove seeds and pulp.
  • Muddler or wooden spoon: I use this to crush the berries and release their juice.
  • Citrus juicer: This makes squeezing fresh lemon juice quick and easy.
  • Tall glasses: These hold enough liquid and leave room for ice and fizz.
  • Ice cubes: I use these to keep the drink cold.
  • Stirring spoon: A spoon helps mix everything before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries I prefer strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries
  • 1/2 fresh lemon juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup to add sweetness
  • 1/2 cup cold sparkling water plain or lemon-flavored
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Extra berries and lemon slices for garnish; optional
  • Fresh mint leaves optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the mixed berries and honey (or syrup) to the shaker.
  • Muddle berries well to release their juice.
  • Pour in fresh lemon juice.
  • Fill the shaker with a handful of ice cubes.
  • Secure the lid and shake for at least 10 seconds to chill the mix.
  • Strain the liquid into a tall glass full of ice, leaving the seeds and pulp behind.
  • Slowly top with sparkling water to fill the glass.
  • Stir gently to blend, then garnish with lemon, berries, or mint if desired.
  • I serve the drink right away while it’s cold and fizzy.

Notes

I adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or syrup to taste. If I want a stronger lemon flavor, I use extra lemon juice.
Fresh berries taste best, but frozen ones work too. I use plain sparkling water for a cleaner taste, or lemon-flavored if I want an extra citrus kick.
For a larger batch, I double or triple the recipe ingredients, mixing everything except the sparkling water in advance. I only add the sparkling water when ready to serve so the fizz stays strong.
