  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Ice cube tray
  • Tall glasses
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar
  • 3 cups sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Extra pineapple and strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Place pineapple chunks and strawberries in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher.
  • Add lime juice and honey to the pitcher. Stir until the honey dissolves.
  • Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
  • Pour the fruit mixture into glasses, filling them halfway.
  • Top each glass with sparkling water and stir gently.

Notes

This recipe makes 4 servings. Store any leftover fruit mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
For best results, use fresh fruit instead of frozen. Frozen fruit can make the drink too thick.
Add more honey if you prefer a sweeter drink. The natural sweetness of the fruits can vary by season.
Replace sparkling water with coconut water or ginger ale for different flavor combinations.
Keep the fruit mixture and sparkling water separate until serving to maintain the fizz.
