Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Rocks glass or margarita glass
  • Small plate (for rim)
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila blanco
  • 1 oz Triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1.5 oz Pineapple juice
  • 1 oz Lime juice fresh
  • 0.5 oz Simple syrup or agave nectar
  • Salt or sugar for rimming glass
  • Ice for shaking and serving
  • Pineapple wedge or lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • Rim your glass with lime, then dip in salt or sugar. Fill with fresh ice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add tequila, triple sec, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  • Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Fine strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a pineapple wedge or lime wheel and serve.

Notes

Use fresh pineapple juice for the brightest flavor; adjust sweetness with more or less syrup. For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with ice instead of shaking. Keep ingredients cold for a crisp finish.
