Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small plate (for rim)
  • Strainer
  • Rocks or margarita glass
  • Bar spoon or stir stick
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila silver or reposado
  • 1 oz Triple sec
  • 1.5 oz Pineapple juice
  • 0.75 oz Lime juice fresh
  • 0.5 oz Simple syrup optional; to taste
  • 0.125 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • Pineapple chunks for garnish
  • Cinnamon sugar for rimming glass
  • Ice cubes for shaking and serving

Instructions

  • Rim a rocks or margarita glass with lime and dip in cinnamon sugar; fill with fresh ice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add tequila, triple sec, pineapple juice, lime juice, simple syrup (if using), and ground cinnamon.
  • Shake well for about 15 seconds until very cold.
  • Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with pineapple chunks or a light sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

Use silver tequila for a crisper profile or reposado for subtle oak. A little cinnamon goes a long way—start small and adjust to taste. If the cocktail skews tart, add a touch more simple syrup; for a lighter style, increase pineapple juice slightly.
