Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 3 oz Pineapple juice fresh if possible
  • 2 oz Lemonade or lemon juice freshly squeezed recommended
  • 0.5 oz Simple syrup or honey
  • Ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • Lemon wheels for garnish
  • Pineapple slice for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves optional; for garnish
  • 1 splash Soda water optional; to top for a lighter drink

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add bourbon, pineapple juice, lemonade or lemon juice, and simple syrup (or honey).
  • Shake for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  • Strain into a rocks glass packed with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel and pineapple slice; add a sprig of mint if using. Top with a splash of soda water for a lighter style.

Notes

Dial back the simple syrup if using a sweeter bourbon. Freshly squeezed lemon and pineapple give the cleanest flavor. Chill your glass beforehand for an extra-cold serve.
