  • 0.5 cup chilled espresso or strong coffee
  • 0.5 cup milk or non-dairy milk
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • 0.25 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp crushed candy canes
  • 1 tsp chocolate shavings
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add espresso, milk, chocolate syrup, and peppermint extract. Shake for 20 seconds until cold.
  • Strain into your glass of choice.
  • Whip heavy cream in a small bowl until slightly thickened. Spoon on top of the drink.
  • Dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle with crushed candy canes and chocolate shavings.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by adding more chocolate syrup if desired. Use almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version. Serve in a chilled glass for a special touch. Go easy on peppermint extract—it's strong! Garnish makes it extra festive.
