  • Jigger or small measuring cup
  • Martini glass
  • Small plate
  • Spoon
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur such as Kahlúa
  • 1 oz peppermint schnapps
  • 1 oz crème de cacao optional, for extra chocolate
  • 1 oz heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp chocolate syrup plus more for garnish
  • crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings for garnish
  • ice cubes enough to fill shaker halfway

Instructions

  • Rim your martini glass with chocolate syrup, then dip it in crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings.
  • Fill your shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add vodka, coffee liqueur, peppermint schnapps, crème de cacao, cream, and chocolate syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake hard for about 15–20 seconds, until the shaker feels frosty.
  • Strain into the prepared glass.
  • Top with a mini candy cane or a sprinkle of chocolate if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tastes best served right away, while super cold. Adjust peppermint schnapps to taste. Substitute crème de cacao with more chocolate syrup if needed. Try almond or oat milk for a non-dairy version.
