  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Bar spoon
  • Martini or rocks glass
  • Strainer
  • Knife and small cutting board
  • Peeler (optional for garnish)
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey or bourbon
  • 1 oz pear nectar or pear juice
  • ½ oz vanilla syrup or ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ oz simple syrup optional, for added sweetness
  • Dash of cinnamon optional
  • Splash of club soda or sparkling water
  • 1 –2 drops orange bitters optional
  • Garnish: 1 thin pear slice 1 small cinnamon stick, or 1 vanilla bean piece
  • Optional: ¼ oz elderflower or orange liqueur

Instructions

  • Add pear slices and vanilla syrup (or vanilla extract) to the shaker and muddle well to release juice and flavor.
  • Add whiskey or bourbon, pear nectar, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a dash of cinnamon.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake well for about 15 seconds, until chilled.
  • Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass or martini glass filled with ice.
  • Top with a splash of club soda or sparkling water and stir gently.
  • Add a few drops of orange bitters or a splash of elderflower/orange liqueur if desired.
  • Garnish with a pear slice, cinnamon stick, or vanilla bean.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.
