Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or small measuring cup
  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Rocks glass

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz fresh pear juice or muddled ripe pear
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup or cinnamon simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz pear liqueur optional, or add more pear juice
  • 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4-5 fresh sage leaves plus more for garnish
  • ice
  • pear slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Toss the sage leaves in your shaker and muddle gently to release the oils.
  • Pour in the gin, pear juice, pear liqueur, simple syrup, and lime juice.
  • Add enough ice to fill the shaker halfway.
  • Shake for about 15 seconds, or until your hands are very cold.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a rocks glass with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a pear slice and sage leaf.

Notes

Use fresh sage and pear juice for the brightest flavor. Try cinnamon simple syrup for a spiced twist. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed. Unsweetened pear juice keeps the drink balanced. Garnish with extra sage for aroma.
