Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Small saucepan
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz pear liqueur
  • 3-4 fresh sage leaves
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup or spiced pear simple syrup
  • 1 egg white optional, for foam
  • club soda or sparkling water to top
  • ice cubes
  • fresh sage leaf or thin pear slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Drop sage leaves and simple syrup into your shaker. Muddle gently to release flavor.
  • Add pear liqueur, lemon juice, and egg white if using. Fill with ice.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds (dry shake first for extra foam if using egg white).
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer into your glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with club soda or sparkling water until fizzy.
  • Garnish with a sage leaf or pear slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Spiced pear syrup adds warmth, especially in colder months. Skip egg white for a lighter fizz. For a nonalcoholic version, use extra pear syrup and lemon. Adjust sage to taste, and add more syrup if you like it sweeter. Clean shaker right after using egg white for easy cleanup.
