Peanut Butter Whiskey Cocktail

Peanut Butter Whiskey Cocktail Recipe
A smooth, nutty whiskey cocktail that blends peanut butter whiskey with a splash of bourbon, bitters, and a touch of simple syrup. Stirred over ice and finished with an orange peel, it’s balanced, cozy, and surprisingly elegant.

  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glass or coupe
  • Large ice cube mold
  • Small plate or bowl (for rimming, optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Peanut butter whiskey e.g., Skrewball
  • 0.5 oz Bourbon adds depth; optional but recommended
  • 0.25 oz Simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 2 dashes Bitters Angostura or chocolate bitters
  • Ice cubes or one large cube
  • Orange peel for expressing oils and garnish; optional
  • Crushed peanuts or chocolate shavings optional; for rimming or garnish

Instructions

  • Add peanut butter whiskey, bourbon, simple syrup, and bitters to a mixing glass or shaker.
  • Fill with ice and stir for 20–30 seconds until chilled and properly diluted.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  • Express an orange peel over the top and drop it in. Garnish with crushed peanuts or chocolate shavings if desired.
  • Variation: For extra sweetness and body, shake with a small splash of cream or coffee liqueur, then strain.

Notes

Peanut butter whiskey can vary in sweetness by brand; adjust simple syrup and bitters accordingly. Turn this base into a peanut butter old fashioned by skipping the bourbon and using a larger bitters dose, or try an espresso twist by adding a shot of chilled espresso.
