Equipment

  • Large pitcher (at least 64 oz/2 quart capacity)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Sharp knife and cutting board
  • Wooden spoon or long-handled stirrer
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Ice cube trays
  • Blender (optional for puréeing fresh peaches)
  • Mason jars or tall glasses for serving

Ingredients

Base Ingredients:

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 4 black tea bags or 2 tablespoons loose leaf tea
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 cups fresh peaches sliced (about 3-4 peaches)
  • ¼ cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Optional Garnishes:

  • Fresh peach slices
  • Mint sprigs
  • Lemon wheels
  • Frozen peach cubes blend peaches and freeze in ice cube trays

For a less sweet version, reduce sugar to ½ cup or use honey as a natural alternative. Frozen peaches can replace fresh when out of season.

Instructions

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Remove from heat.
  • Add tea bags to the hot water and steep for 5-7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool.
  • While tea steeps, wash and slice peaches. Remove pits and cut into small chunks.
  • Add peach chunks to a blender and blend until smooth. For a clearer drink, strain the purée through a fine mesh strainer.
  • In your pitcher, combine the cooled tea, peach purée, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir until sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add remaining 4 cups of cold water and stir to combine.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight to enhance flavors.
  • Serve over ice, garnished with fresh peach slices and mint.

For a special touch, rim glasses with sugar before pouring the mocktail.

    Notes

Store this peach iced tea mocktail in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The flavor actually improves after the first day as the peach and tea flavors meld together.
For special dietary needs, consider these modifications:
Low Sugar: Replace sugar with stevia or monk fruit sweetener
Extra Fruity: Add ½ cup of strawberries or raspberries when blending peaches
Sparkling Version: Substitute 2 cups of water with sparkling water added just before serving
This recipe serves approximately 8 people. For a larger crowd, double the recipe but taste test before adding the full amount of sugar. Temperature affects sweetness perception—cold drinks need slightly more sweetener.
