Equipment

  • Copper mug (traditional for mules but any glass works)
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Bar spoon: for stirring.
  • Citrus juicer
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Ice bucket

Ingredients

For one Passionfruit Mule cocktail:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice about 1 lime
  • 1 oz passionfruit puree or syrup
  • 4 oz ginger beer
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel or fresh mint for garnish

Optional additions:

  • 1/2 oz simple syrup if using fresh passionfruit
  • Fresh passionfruit seeds
  • Candied ginger piece

Instructions

  • Fill your copper mug or glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour the vodka into the mug.
  • Add the fresh lime juice and passionfruit puree or syrup.
  • Stir these ingredients together with a bar spoon.
  • Top with ginger beer, pouring slowly to preserve carbonation.
  • Gently stir again to combine all flavors without losing bubbles.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim or a sprig of mint.

Notes

This cocktail can be easily adjusted to suit your taste. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add more passionfruit syrup or a splash of simple syrup.
For a stronger ginger kick, choose a spicier ginger beer.
For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the vodka and add more passionfruit and ginger beer. This makes a refreshing "mocktail" that everyone can enjoy.
You can prep the lime juice and passionfruit mixture ahead of time, but add the ginger beer just before serving to maintain its carbonation.
