Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Muddler
  • Strainer
  • Highball glasses
  • Ice cube tray
  • Citrus juicer
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

For 4 servings:

  • 8 oz 240 ml vodka
  • 4 oz 120 ml passionfruit puree
  • 2 oz 60 ml fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz 60 ml fresh orange juice
  • 2 oz 60 ml simple syrup
  • Club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slices and mint sprigs for garnish

Fresh fruit juices make a big difference in taste. If you can't find passionfruit puree, you can use passion fruit juice instead.

Instructions

  • Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add vodka, passionfruit puree, lime juice, orange juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake well for 10-15 seconds to chill and mix the ingredients.
  • Fill highball glasses with ice cubes.
  • Strain the cocktail mixture into the glasses, leaving room at the top.
  • Top off each glass with a splash of club soda.
  • Stir gently to mix.
  • Garnish with orange slices and mint sprigs.
  • Serve right away while the drink is cold and bubbly.

The club soda adds a nice fizz to the cocktail.

    Notes

You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka with extra fruit juice or coconut water.
This recipe is easy to scale up for larger gatherings. You can mix the base in a pitcher ahead of time and add ice and club soda just before serving.
Try experimenting with different citrus juices like grapefruit or tangerine for new flavor combinations. Fresh herbs like basil or rosemary can also add an interesting twist to the drink.
