  • Citrus juicer
  • Small saucepan

Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila or reposado tequila
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice or grapefruit soda
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.75 oz honey syrup equal parts honey and warm water
  • 0.25 oz ginger syrup or splash of ginger beer
  • 2 oz club soda or sparkling water
  • salt rim or sugar rim, optional
  • grapefruit wedges or lime wheel, for garnish
  • hot honey a few drops, optional, for extra heat

Instructions

  • Rim the glass with lime juice and dip it into salt or sugar.
  • Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  • Add tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, honey syrup, and ginger syrup to a shaker.
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until everything is well chilled.
  • Strain into your prepared glass.
  • Top with club soda or sparkling water.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or lime wheel.

Notes

Use silver tequila for a crisp base or reposado for a richer note. Mezcal is a great smoky swap. Adjust honey or lime to taste, and ginger beer for more spice. Serve ingredients cold for extra fizz.
