Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila or mezcal for smoky flavor
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave nectar or simple syrup
  • 2.5 oz sparkling water or club soda
  • black salt or coarse salt, for rim
  • grapefruit wheel or lime wedge, for garnish
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass.
  • Dip the rim in black salt until fully coated.
  • Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  • Add tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave nectar to a shaker.
  • Add ice, shake for about 10 seconds, and strain into the prepared glass.
  • Top with sparkling water or club soda.
  • Stir gently and garnish with a grapefruit wheel or lime wedge.

Notes

Silver tequila for a crisp taste, mezcal for smoke. Adjust agave for sweetness and use fresh juice for best results. Black salt rim brings an earthy edge that pairs perfectly with the citrus.
