This Paloma with blood orange juice is a refreshing, colorful twist on the classic cocktail, combining tequila, sweet-tart blood orange, and sparkling grapefruit soda for a bold and crowd-pleasing drink.
If desired, run a lime wedge around your glass and dip in coarse salt to rim.
Fill a shaker with ice. Add blood orange juice, tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup.
Shake for about 10 seconds until cold.
Fill glass with ice. Strain mixture into glass.
Top with sparkling grapefruit soda and stir gently.
Garnish with a blood orange slice or lime wedge and serve immediately.
Notes
Fresh blood oranges are best, but bottled juice is fine. Adjust simple syrup to taste. Mezcal can be substituted for a smoky version. Serve immediately for best fizz.
