Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Jigger
  • Citrus juicer
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Highball or stemless wine glass
  • Ice scoop
  • Small plate and salt (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz Aperol
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.25 oz simple syrup optional, to taste
  • 2 oz grapefruit soda or sparkling water to top
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • grapefruit wedge or lime wheel for garnish
  • coarse salt optional, for rimming glass

Instructions

  • (Optional) Rim the glass with salt and fill with fresh ice.
  • Fill a shaker with ice. Add tequila, Aperol, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and optional simple syrup.
  • Shake about 10 seconds until well‑chilled, then strain into the prepared glass.
  • Top with grapefruit soda or sparkling water and stir gently to keep the bubbles.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or lime wheel and serve immediately.

Notes

Fresh juice keeps the drink bright. Adjust sweetness by tweaking the simple syrup. For a stronger profile, increase tequila slightly or reduce the topper; for lighter, add more sparkling water.
