  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid
  • Fine strainer
  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Highball glass or tall glass
  • Muddler (or back of a spoon)
  • Small saucepan
  • Long spoon or stirring stick
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice bottled works in a pinch
  • 1 tablespoon honey, agave syrup, or simple syrup
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 2-3 whole cloves or a pinch of ground clove
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water, club soda, or soda water
  • 2-3 fresh mint leaves
  • ice cubes
  • 1 orange slice or wedge for garnish

Instructions

  • Add mint leaves and cloves to the shaker. Muddle gently.
  • Pour in orange juice, lemon juice, and lime juice. Add your sweetener and any optional extras.
  • Add ice cubes to shaker. Shake for about 15 seconds until cold.
  • Strain the mixture into your glass over fresh ice cubes.
  • Top with sparkling water, club soda, or soda water. Stir gently.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Fresh orange juice is best. Swap sweeteners as you prefer. Club soda or sparkling water adds a lively fizz; ginger ale gives a spicy twist. Double or triple for parties. Optional: add pineapple juice, grenadine, or orange zest for variety.
