bourbon

Cointreau or Triple Sec

fresh orange juice

whole egg
pasteurized if preferred
ice cubes
for shaking
orange peel
optional garnish

Instructions
Crack the egg into a small bowl to check freshness, then add to cocktail shaker.
Add bourbon, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and orange juice.
Dry shake (no ice) for 15 seconds.
Add ice and shake again until cold.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with orange peel or a sprinkle of nutmeg if desired.
Notes
Use pasteurized egg if concerned about raw eggs. Adjust sweetness with more or less simple syrup. Serve immediately for best foam texture.
