Equipment

  • Highball glass
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Bar spoon or long-handled spoon
  • Ice cube tray
  • Citrus zester or peeler

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1/4 oz orange blossom water
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange peel for garnish

Use a good quality vodka for the best flavor. Tonic water provides bubbles and a touch of bitterness.

Instructions

  • Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour 2 oz vodka over the ice.
  • Add 1/4 oz orange blossom water.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon to mix.
  • Top with 4 oz tonic water.
  • Stir once more to combine.
  • Garnish with an orange peel twist.

To make the orange twist, use a zester or peeler to cut a strip of orange peel. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in. This adds extra orange flavor to the cocktail.

    Notes

This drink is best served right away while it's cold and bubbly. You can adjust the amount of orange blossom water to taste. Start with less if you're not sure, as it has a strong flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka and use more tonic water instead. You can also try different citrus peels for the garnish, like lemon or grapefruit.
