Equipment

  • First, grab a cocktail shaker—this helps mix everything well.
  • I also use a muddler to mash the mint leaves and melon.
  • A jigger is handy for measuring ingredients accurately.
  • Of course, a glass to serve this tasty drink, preferably a tall one.
  • Don’t forget a bar spoon for stirring and a strainer to catch seeds and pulp.
  • Ice cubes are a must, so have those ready, too!

Ingredients

Here's what you'll need to create this delightful drink:

  • Fresh mint leaves: about 10 leaves
  • Lime juice: 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed
  • Melon: diced about 1/2 cup (melon like cantaloupe or watermelon work well) 🍈
  • White rum: 2 ounces
  • Club soda: 1/2 cup
  • Simple syrup: 1 tablespoon
  • Ice: as needed

Make sure to use fresh ingredients for the best taste. Fresh mint and juicy melon make all the difference!

Instructions

  • Start by adding the mint leaves and melon into your glass.
  • Using the muddler, gently crush them to release the flavors.
  • Add fresh lime juice and simple syrup.
  • Then pour in the white rum and mix everything in the shaker with ice cubes.
  • Shake the mixture well, then pour it into your serving glass filled with ice.
  • Top it off with club soda, then give it a gentle stir with the bar spoon.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig and a melon slice.

Your delightful Melon Mojito is ready to enjoy!

      Notes

Mint offers a fresh kick, so don’t skip it. If you like it sweeter, add a little more simple syrup.
For a bit of a twist, try swapping watermelon for the cantaloupe. It gives it a vibrant color and taste!
Adjust the amount of rum based on your preference. Adding too much can overpower the flavors. Feel free to experiment with different melon types to find what you love most in your mojito!
