  • Small saucepan
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cup
  • Heatproof mug or glass
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger or fresh grated ginger
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cup milk of choice oat, almond, or dairy
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup to taste
  • pinch of cinnamon optional

Instructions

  • Sift matcha powder into a small bowl using a fine mesh strainer to remove any clumps.
  • Add a splash of warm water and whisk until smooth and frothy.
  • In a small saucepan over low heat, gently warm your milk of choice. Stir in turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and cinnamon if using.
  • Pour the whisked matcha into the spiced milk and whisk or stir until fully combined.
  • Add your sweetener (honey, maple, or agave) and whisk again.
  • Pour into a heatproof mug or glass. For an iced version, chill the spiced milk and serve over ice.

Notes

Keep heat low when warming milk for best flavor and texture. Use creamy oat or almond milk for a velvety result. Black pepper helps absorb turmeric’s nutrients. Extra ginger or cinnamon can be added for more spice. Drink can be enjoyed hot or cold. Full of antioxidants and soothing flavor!
