  • Cocktail shaker
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small whisk
  • Strainer
  • Tall glass
  • Kettle or pot

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha powder or high-quality matcha
  • 2 oz gin
  • 0.5 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • 3 oz oat milk or almond milk
  • 2 oz hot water about 175°F, not boiling
  • fresh mint sprigs for garnish
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Heat your water to about 175°F and pour it into a small bowl.
  • Add matcha powder and whisk or froth until it’s smooth and clump-free.
  • In a shaker, combine the matcha mixture, gin, peppermint extract, honey or maple syrup, and milk.
  • Add ice, then shake until chilled and frothy.
  • Strain into a glass filled with ice and top with fresh mint leaves.

Notes

Use high-quality matcha for a smooth flavor. Adjust honey/maple and peppermint extract to taste. For a non-alcoholic version, just skip the gin. Oat milk gives a richer texture; almond milk keeps it lighter. Enjoy cold, or skip the shaker and drink warm in a mug. Fresh mint on top boosts aroma with every sip!
