Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 0.5 cup frozen banana or fresh for a thinner shake
  • 0.75 cup almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt or non-dairy yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey optional, to taste
  • 0.25 avocado optional, for creaminess
  • 0.5 cup ice

Instructions

  • Whisk matcha powder with 2 tablespoons warm water until smooth and lump-free.
  • Pour the matcha mixture into your blender.
  • Add frozen blueberries, banana, yogurt, and avocado if using.
  • Add your milk of choice, then the ice and sweetener.
  • Blend on high for 45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  • Taste, then adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more milk or ice as needed. Blend again if necessary.
  • Pour into a tall glass. Garnish with blueberries or mint if desired. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Frozen banana and avocado create the thickest, creamiest texture—fresh fruit makes it easier to sip. Sweeten to taste, or skip sweetener for a naturally fruity drink. Add a splash of vodka or rum for a cocktail twist. Blueberries pair best with matcha’s earthy notes; swap in mixed berries for variety. This drink is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber!
