  • 0.75 oz pure maple syrup not imitation
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice about half a lemon
  • 4-6 fresh mint leaves plus more for garnish
  • 1 dash orange bitters optional
  • ice cubes or crushed ice crushed preferred
  • lemon wedge or twist for garnish
  • cinnamon stick optional, for garnish
  • mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Toss the mint leaves and lemon wedges in the bottom of your shaker and gently muddle to release oils and juice.
  • Add bourbon, maple syrup, lemon juice, and orange bitters (if using).
  • Add a handful of ice cubes or crushed ice. Shake for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker gets frosty.
  • Double strain into a rocks glass packed with crushed ice.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig, lemon twist, or cinnamon stick. Serve immediately with a short straw.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice and pure maple syrup for best flavor. Crushed ice creates the ideal texture. Reduce maple syrup for less sweetness, especially if using maple bourbon. Batch by multiplying ingredients and shaking with plenty of ice. Garnish with mint, lemon, or cinnamon for aroma and visual appeal. Serve immediately while cold and fresh.
