  • Muddler
  • Measuring spoons
  • Citrus juicer
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Tall glass or mason jar
  • Bar spoon or stirrer
  • Ice cubes
  • Small plate (for tajín or salt rim, optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves
  • 4-5 blueberries or mixed berries
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • 2 ounces pomegranate juice optional
  • 4 ounces sparkling water, ginger beer, club soda, apple cider, or Topo Chico
  • crushed or cubed ice
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional, for extra sweetness
  • pomegranate seeds for garnish
  • lime wheel or fresh berries for garnish
  • tajín seasoning optional, for rim

Instructions

  • If desired, rim your glass with tajín or salt.
  • Muddle mint leaves and berries in a shaker to release flavor.
  • Add maple syrup, lime juice, honey, and fruit juices to the shaker.
  • Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake for about 15 seconds.
  • Strain into an ice-filled glass.
  • Top with club soda, sparkling water, ginger beer, apple cider, or Topo Chico.
  • Gently stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with pomegranate seeds, berries, or lime. Serve chilled and bubbly.

Notes

Real maple syrup works best for flavor. Add extra honey or citrus to taste. For parties, batch in a pitcher and let guests add their own sparkling water. Try different fruits or garnishes for variety.
