  • Measuring jigger
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Tall glass or mug
  • Spoon
  • Kettle or small pot

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 2 oz milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1 oz maple syrup
  • 1.5 oz vodka or whiskey for a deeper flavor
  • 2 oz hot water just under boiling
  • ice cubes for shaking
  • cinnamon or nutmeg optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Add matcha powder to a small bowl.
  • Pour in hot water (not boiling) and whisk until the matcha dissolves and gets frothy.
  • Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add milk, maple syrup, vodka (or whiskey), and the whisked matcha to the shaker.
  • Secure the lid and shake hard for about 15 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall glass or mug.
  • Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

The milk you use changes the vibe—whole milk for richness, oat for a lighter, sweet finish. Swap vodka for whiskey for a bolder, deeper cocktail. Leave out the spirits for a cozy maple matcha latte. Always use hot (not boiling) water for the best matcha flavor, and give a quick stir before sipping if needed.
