Equipment

  • Shaker
  • Jigger
  • Fine strainer
  • Rocks glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small plate
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice fresh
  • 3/4 oz pure maple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters optional
  • fresh rosemary sprig for garnish, optional
  • lemon wheel or twist for garnish, optional
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  • Add bourbon, maple syrup, and lemon juice to the shaker.
  • If using, add Angostura bitters.
  • Shake well for about 15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
  • Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a rosemary sprig or lemon wheel, if you like.

Notes

Always use real maple syrup for best flavor. Try cinnamon or orange bitters for a twist. Taste and adjust lemon or syrup to your liking. High-quality bourbon makes it extra smooth. A torch-roasted rosemary garnish adds aroma.
